2.1数字图像处理的优点
数字图像处理有许多优点，主要表现在：①再现性好：数字图像
处理与模拟图像处理的根本不同在于，它不会因图像的存储、传输或
复制等一系列变换操作而导致图像质量的退化。②处理精度高：按目
前的技术，几乎可将一幅模拟图像数字化为任意大小的二维数组，这
意味着图像的数字化精度可以满足任一应用需求。③适用面宽：图像
可以来自多种信息源，它可以是可见光图像，也可以是不可见的波谱
图像。从图像反映的客观实体尺度看，可以小到电子显微镜图像，大
到航空照片、遥感图像甚至天文望远镜图像。④灵活性高：数字图像
处理不仅能完成线性运算，而且能实现非线性处理，即凡是可以用数
学公式或逻辑关系来表达的一切运算均可用数字图像处理实现。
2.2 数字图像处理的应用领域
目前，图像处理技术已经在许多不同的应用领域受到重视并得到
重大的开拓性成就。属于这些领域的主要有：①宇宙探测：其他星体
图象处理；②通信：图象信息传输、电视电话、卫星通信、数字电话
等；③遥感方面：地形、地质、资源勘探、灾情调查、气象卫星云图
处理及目标识别等；④生物医学领域：细胞分析、染色体分类、放射
图象处理、血球分类、各种CT、核磁共振图象分析；⑤工作生产
中：无损探伤、石油气勘探、机器人视觉、自动控制，如机器零件检
查和识别、印刷电路板瑕疵检查、CAD/CAM、电脑刺绣等；⑥军
事：军事目标的侦察、制导、警戒；⑦公安方面：实景现场照片、指
纹、足迹、印章、人像等识别与处理、集装箱内物品的核辐射成象检
测、人随身携带物品的X射线检查等；⑧天气预报：天气云图测绘、
传输；⑨考古：珍贵文物图片、名画、壁画的辅助恢复；⑩新领域：
信息安全、信息隐藏与数字水印等。
