原题：The boy is Tom . The boy is smiling.
变成定语从句正确的应该是：The boy who is smiling is Tom

我突发奇想：变成：The boy is Tom who is smiling.请问这样行吗？

The boy who is smiling is Tom.
这个是正确的改法，当然也可以说
The smiling boy is Tom.

后面的突发奇想就不是很好的英语了，要避免为好。

如果非要这样说
The boy is Tom who is smiling.
我就只好这样理解：
这个男孩子是微笑的汤姆。其他的汤姆都不笑。

你突发奇想的不对 意思变了。。。
