UC知道英语关于直接引语改为间接引语的问题

1 She asked her father,"What do you think of the film?"
She asked her father what he thought of the film.
2 The man asked,"What's the matter with the boy?"
The man asked what was the matter with the boy
问题就是 为什么2句中变间接引语时不是what the matter was 而是what was the matter? 我问老师 老师说那是因为what 作了主语了所以是The man asked what was the matter.我还是听不太明白 那为什么不能在1句中说She asked her father what did he think of the film? 难道第1句的what在间接引语中不是作主语吗？还是？

从句中一定是陈述语序。
what did he think of the film不是陈述语序，what he thought of the film才是。
what was the matter是陈述语序。what是做主语的。也许现在你还是不大明白为什么what是主语，反正你记住这是特例，what是主语。我们老师说what the matter was 不太好，从语言角度上来说，what was the matter比较通顺，比较常用。
what是关系代词，作主语，这个从句是回复了陈述句语序的，而did的出现使句子变成了疑问句，没有回复陈述句语序
what was the matter中what是主语,你把what用名词代替就会发现这是陈述语序
