就人的视觉来说，没有光也就没有一切。在室内设计中，光不仅是为满足人们视觉功能的需要，而且是一个重要的美学因素。光可以形成空间、改变空间或者破坏空间，它直接影响到人对物体大小、形状、质地和色彩的感知。
因此在酒店室内设计中，灯光设计是其重要的组成部分之一。酒店室内合理的灯光布置可以渲染酒店的空间气氛，可以增强酒店空间层次、丰富空间内容，又可以强化和体现装饰风格；而不合理灯光布置则起到了破坏作用。因而在设计的前期我们就要对灯具的选择，光源的特点，照明方式等加以细致地考虑。所以我针对酒店室内照明的特点，对酒店照明的光源的合理利用与选择、提高照明效果的色温设计、建筑化照明的注意事项等几个重点进行了研究。
