Detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG)

The performance of the proposed immunosensor in HCG
quantification was performed by measuring their current
response to a range of HCG concentrations under optimal
immunoassay conditions. The electrochemical detection of
HCG antigen was based on the block of electron transfer,
which was controlled by the formation of antigen–antibody
immunocomplex. With the increasing concentration of
HCG antigen, the response current was decreased gradually.
According to this relationship, HCG could be
determined directly. As shown in Fig. 8c, the decrease of
CVs peak current was proportional to the HCG concentration
in the ranges from 0.8 to 500 mIU/mL with linear
slopes of 0.1032 lA mL/mIU and coefficients of 0.9983.
The detection limit was calculated to be 0.3 mIU/mL at
three times background noise.
