楼主把A带进去我觉得不是很合适，它中间说 in conflict with present age （这里present age是 前面contemporary 的重复，）既然是conflict，那就应该要摒弃。C选项不错

其实GRE的这种破句子，在国外根本不会出现，简直就是吓唬人的。我当年考GRE，现在在国外，也没见过这么又破又臭的句子。不过GRE有些词汇还是能用到。
