friends的用法

Graduation is coming!Many student are leaving school.What are they
taking with them? A lot of things for sure, but the most important
thing is friends.
请问最后一句为什么is后还能接friends？

friends在这里表示一个种类，即一个团体，所以，可以用is，我记得有个歌手团体叫做a teens，teen是青少年的意思，一次相同，即一个青少年团体的意思。不过，像初中或是高中的话大多数还是用are的，到了大学之后，可以略随意。

表示一个群体。
记住啦~当群体名词时要作单数哦~
虽然楼上说到大学以后可以随便用。。。
不过考试还是这样比较保险~
