这要视情况而定，如果用分词短语作things的后置定语，那么就该说：
things not going as well as expecting（该词要改成过去分词，因为他同things成动宾关系，即：被期待的事情）意思是：不像预期的那样进展的事情。
如果要说成一句话，就是：
