完整的句子应是Fortunately for them, the Bank of England has a team called Mutilated Ladies which deals with claims from people who fed their money to a machine or to their dog

特地查了一下书。果然是“their dogs”。看上去确实不舒服。
但从语法上讲，or与and前后内容的时态、单复数都应一致。
or前面是a machine单数，所以后面dog也用单数。
是问把他们的钱花在机器上 还是花在狗上了。。。。他们的 当然要用their 他们只有一只狗 所以用dog ....
