但是答案是in

我不明白为什么用in

那定语从句就是she had come in which =she had come in direction

这说的通吗？

direction可以这么用吗？他的词组是这个吗？
in the direction of which不也行吗？这样可以看作是which代替the direction 。然后she had come 作为which的修饰成分。
