“were it to-----”的句式以及相关小问题

两个空，两个问题。
1. Were it to clear up tomorrow，什么意思? 为什么要这么写？
2. wait for the sun to rise. 为什么是 to rise? 不觉得 wait for the sun rising 更好吗？还是应该是 wait for the sun's rising?

1. 如果明天放晴的话

这个是虚拟语气的句子,表示假如xxxxx，最正规的应该是if it were to clear up tomorrow。不过有规则是,were, had, should这些情态动词可以提前,并省略掉if。

2. 一般wait for 后面加doing。但我觉得这里是想强调太阳升起那一刻，所以用了to rise。表示那个时点。如果这里加 rising，那就是表示等待太阳升起来。意思稍有不同
