1.other是指另外的 、其他的
eg：I have no other place to go.

2.others是指其他的 通常用于some···some···others
eg：There are many people in the ground，some are playing football，
some are running ，others are singing.

3.the other 是指两个物体中的一个
通常用于one...the other
eg：There are two apples on the table，one is big，the other is small

4.the others 是指其余的 指若干个物体中 除了一个外的剩余物体
eg：This dictionary is better than the others.

简单的说
the other两者中的另一个（注意是两者，就是范围在两个事物之间）
other 则表示广义的其他，即三者或多者之间； 其后一般是复数名词。即other+复数名词=others

another表示三者或三者以上的另一个，是单数对象。
