（1）A while表转折与对比，后面跟短语，but一般跟句子。
（2）B 固定搭配It is certain that.... sb. is sure that...
(3) C 那就是你错误所在啊！从时态也可判断出，只有C用了 were.

（5）C that 引导同位语从句，后面是个条件状语从句，如果。。就。。
（6）D where指代在新的规则制度中，为年轻运动员设立了榜样。
（7）B what，因为it takes后面缺宾语。。

正常语序，是you have invented sth, invented后面缺宾语啊，也有what噢！
（12）A it is/was ...that...是一个固定句型，这是个强调句型，可以强调除谓语以外的所有句子成分，后面是found (that) what he thought was..但是that可省略，he thought后面同样缺宾语的，用what..

总之第一位同学的答案恐怕不怎么正确，我是英语专业。已经毕业，我高中就很喜欢做这种选择题，只是感兴趣，过来做了一下。
