我们老师给的句子是
most children ofen eat fast food on their way to lessons.
翻译过来就应该是 大多数孩子都是在他们上学的路上吃快餐赶路。
那么就应该翻译为在某人准备干什么（上学）的路上，但是我感觉这句型更像在某人的路上干什么（吃快餐）。比如：most children are ofen on their way to eat fast food.
或者说这句型本身就是错的 不应该是to do sth而是to someplace?
to do 是将要打算干什么
on one's way doing sth 是在干什么的路上
most children are ofen on their way to eat fast food.
的意思是：很多孩子经常在打算吃快餐 就不是你要表达的意思了
to do sth 和 to someplace 前面那个是表示干什么，to表示将要的意思；
