take much interest in 一般表示临时的对什么感兴趣，比如偶尔见到了什么，突然对其对兴趣。
be interested in 一般表示一直对什么感兴趣，是长期以来的兴趣。

they take much intersts in animals是过分的感兴趣.(废寝忘食的)
they are interested in animals 是普通的感兴趣.
