Martin Luther King wrote a letter to Birmingham CityJail and he said: “I guess it is easy for those who have never felt thestinging darts of segregation to say with.” He cited the example of Hitler because something isdeemed legal does not make it just. And then, he believed “now is the time todo what is right for humanity and for the nation.” MartinLuther King thinks as a citizen, he has a responsibility to bring awareness toothers and he hopes fear and hatred will disappear, revealing beauty and lovein humanity. And he wants them to see their part ending racial segregation.
In the beginning of the letter,King is in Birmingham because the AfricanAmerican community is receiving unjust treatment because of the color of theirskin.
