developing coutry中的developing是 动名词还是现在分词？

一般来讲， 动名词(gerund)已相当于名词,作定语时表示所修饰词的功能和性质； 而 现在分词（present participle）拥有更多的动词特性，作定语时表示所修饰词的动作，
如： a running lap 跑道，running是动名词，相当于 the lap that is used for running, 而lap本身是无法“running”的;

a running cat 奔跑着的猫 ， running是现在分词，相当于 the cat that is running ，这里cat自己就可以“running”;

所以，developing coutry 中更多的像是【现在分词】， 表示the country that is developing, 而不是the country that is used for developing;

cooking oil = the oil that is used for cooking

而 helping hand 理解为 the hand that is helping
或 the hand that is used for helping 都说得通，所以说是【现在分词】或【动名词】都行；同理，breaking news也是如此。

其实没有必要这么细分，除非你考语法或当老师要讲课。
