National Overview

Buyi mainly settles in South of Guizhou province, Southwest of Guizhou and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, An shun city, and Guiyang City, in the Southeast Guizhou Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Tongren Prefecture, Zunyi City, Bijie area, Luo Liupanshui City and Yunnan, Sichuan, as well as the Southern of Ningxia. According to the fifth national statistics in 2000, the Buyi population was 2.97146 million. The usage of Buyi language, is a Sino-Tibetan language family Zhuang Zhuang-Dong Dai language branch, and the Zhuang language are closely related. Northern Zhuang dialect Dushan, Lung, Xingyi counties Buyi language basically the same.
