连字符将两个名词连在一起时用作形容词,意思为"...的"
在2,3句中的意思为"一级的","二级的"
不用连字符就是用名词直接作定语修饰后面的名词,这也没错.
第1句,是用a修饰名词castle,名词为单数时要用不冠词修饰,如为特指或是上文提到的就是定冠词加以修饰.
A 第一二句 nineteenth century 和fourth year 都是时间副词，第一次出现的时候都是介词（in）的副词，第二次是系动词（be）的时间副词。
B of 后面接名词 ，整个词组就相当于形容词了，翻译之后就是”什么什么的“的意思
用上连字符之后，词性就相当于形容词了，如第三句 一级的。
C可见12 34 这几个句子变换了句型 但相应词的词性都没变。
第一句的a 是对应castle来说的 a castle 一座城堡 。
序数词修饰名词不加连字符,可数名词前都要有冠词,即使它有定语,可以理解了吧.
