关于can，could ，be able to的问题

我从一本书上看到：can用于现在时，将来时
could用于过去时，现在时，将来时
ba able to用于过去时，现在时，将来时
可我在网上看到：can用于现在时
could用于过去时
be able to用于将来时
请问到到底哪个正确，说明理由
同样在这本书上写道Alice couldnt hear what the teacher was saying in class this morning
用现在时表示Alice cant hear what the teacher is saying in class now
既然这本书上说could用于过去时，现在时，将来时，为什么还要把couldnt换成cant

can和could都是情态动词。有些时候，不区分时态，只是想表示更加委婉的意思，就用“could”，比如说“could you please give me a cup of tea ?”

书上的,could的确一般清况下用于过去式,可现在式中也表示维婉的语气
