体育中心建设项目正式启动，区政府划拨800万元启动资金用于开展前期工作。整个项目划分为三期实施。
一期工程从今年至2010年10月，主要完成土石方工程及三通一平，全民健身馆、全民健身广场及其配套设施建设；
二期工程从2010年11月至2011年 9月，主要完成综合体育馆、篮球场、网球场、乒乓球场、室外游泳池及其配套设施；
三期工程从2011年10月至2012年10月，主要完成综合楼、体育场、停车场、道路、绿化等配套工程。
其中，全民健身馆面积约2000平方米，综合体育馆和体育场分别能容纳3500人和12000人。
