linux nvidia显卡驱动程序下载及安装！

刚刚装了Ubuntu 6.06 ，但是没有办法启动到X桌面，是不是显卡驱动没有装啊？
我用 lspci -v查过了pci接口上的所有硬件，回显是
Nvidia unknown devices！

如果是这样的话，求求高手们指点指点。
我的显卡： nvidia Geforce 7300GT

cpu AMD Am2 64 3000+
