企业诊断，是由具有丰富经营理论知识和实践经验的专家，与企业有关人员密切配合，应用科学的方法找出企业经营战略和经营管理上存在的问题，分析产生问题的原因，提出改进方案（建议）；当受诊企业接受改进方案（建议）后，则负责培训人员，帮助指导企业实施改进方案。企业是市场经济的主体，企业诊断可以使企业管理人员增长管理技能，得到专门的知识、现代化的管理技术或方法乃至诀窍，从而提高企业的素质，增强它们抵御外界环境和内部因素变化的能力，为企业管理创新提供科学的方法和依据，为市场经济的良性运行提供强有力的智力支持。本文通过针对企业的深入分析，为将来企业从民营企业向现代化企业转变提供思路和方法。
本文的工作重心就是以新中新集团作为研究对象，在比较系统地总结关于企业运营主要理论的基础上，主要采用实地诊断和问卷诊断的方法，从战略管理、公司治理、市场营销、人力资源、生产运作等方面，将发现的个别问题联系起来研究，发掘问题间的联系，总结出其中的规律，以求找出那些“最重要的、最根源性的和最有迫切性的问题形成诊断报告，进行报告的内部总结。
通过此次深入诊断，将更加客观地认识到新中新集团目前在发展中存在的问题和亟待解决的矛盾。通过发现问题，帮助集团领导层认识到这些问题背后的根源，明确目前阶段应做的“正确的事”，共同寻找个性化的解决方案，为使公司在新的发展阶段把握机遇，实现自身的使命和战略目标奠定基础。
