如果是在if引导的从句中，用一般过去表示对现在的猜测；用过去完成表示对过去的猜测，be都要用were

主句中表示现在或是未来发生的事情的虚拟。
主句中过去虚拟的表示用should have done

eg. If I had gone there, I wouldn't meet Allen. 表示事情已经发生了，表过去
If I were you, I would go with Allen. 表将来
If it were to rain /should rain, we would put off the party. 表将来

还有一种表希望的虚拟 I wish I could fly.
