刚才找到的一点资料：
The direct translation of minzu (民族) may mean "ethnic group", "people", or "nationality"[1].

Chinese ethnic groups ：中国的少数民族
Chinese nationalities: 中国的民族

用Chinese Nationalites好一些。ethnic常常含有“种族”的意思，而中国各民族都属于同一个种族（新疆有几个例外吧？）。
