up 与 on 都可以表示在...上面吧,是不是意思差不多呢?

on表示有接触的上面，比如a book on the desk
up表示方向性的上面，和down相对，一般不接触
above和over表示不接触的上面，如there is a cloude above/over our head，它们和below相对。

on the hill 是在山上,与山接触,up the hill 在山的上方,不与山接触.
