Word enters text in Insert mode so that when you add a word in the middle of a line of text, the text to the right of the new word moves ahead. However,you can also operate Word in Overtype mode,so that what you type replaces any text that's in the way rather than pushing it to the right. To set Overtype mode, double_click the shaded OVR button in the status bar, or choose Options from the Tools menu, click the Edit tab,and then select the Overtype Mode check box.

Word(OFFICE WORD软件)以插入模式进入文本中，当你要在一行文本的中间插入一个单词的时候，新单词后边的文本会向右移动。但是，你也可以用覆盖模式来操作WORD,这样你输入的文字会替代原来的文本而不是以向右移动的方式。可以双击状态栏上的OVR按钮来进入覆盖模式，或者从工具菜单中选择“选项”，再单击“编辑”选项，然后选择在覆盖模式前面打勾。
