把“以热爱祖国为荣”译成英文（主要想知道以...为荣的句型）

“翻译八荣八耻……”以前也有人提过这种要求的，好过分……
那时候实在是想不出，后来有了灵感，希望各位达人一起切磋。 ：）
“以热爱祖国为荣”我觉得可以翻译为“to take motherland devotion as an honor.”
所以这组东西可以翻作“to take ...as an honor.”“to take ...as a shame.”
个人意见，请指教 ：D

take pride in...;take shame in....但我认为不能这样机械地搬用句型，因此我比较赞成下面这个版本（摘自中国日报的BBS）：
