爱滋病会在中年人中间广为传播,致使劳力大量减少.
书上是这样T的:
AIDS has stolen a generation and imperiled the future.
It will cause such a significant amount of disease in the middle ages of the population that it will largely reduce the number of people available to carry out the functions of the society.

第一句 Stolen 不理解 可以说是 夺走？
第二句觉得实在是太罗。
自己翻译为 AIDS will transmit between middle aged and cause the mass decrease of the labour force.
哪位有其他的翻译呢？我这样翻大体上是对的吗？

爱滋夺走人生命方式的确是一种不声不响，在前期甚至是一种不知不觉的较漫长过程，的确是stolen呀，学过翻译理论就会知道，译文不一定要一对一地“死译”。
另外，你的书上可能只是提供了相应的英文表达法而已，并不一定是对中文的翻译。
可以用stolen，用这个词 很形象。不一定非要译过来，意会即可
