When I arrived, the supper____(already begin).
因为这里的arrived是过去时，所以后面使用过去完成时。
那可不可以写成过去进行时呢？
When I arrived, the supper had already beginning?
那这句话翻译为：
当我回来的时候，晚饭已经开始了。（这样翻译对吗？）

不能，begin是瞬间动词，不能用进行时。
