第一部分阐述青少年犯罪的现状和特点。
我国的青少年犯罪率从横向上比较，在世界上属于比例较低的国家之一；但如果纵向比较，青少年犯罪率的大幅度增加十分明显。
当前，青少年犯罪呈现出不同于以往的新特点：第一，从犯罪主体看，低龄化、女性犯罪增多。第二，从犯罪性质来看，呈现出突发性、多发性、恶劣性、反复性等特点。第三，从犯罪的实施手段看，呈现出暴力化、成人化、智能化、团伙化等特点。
第二部分主要运用犯罪学的有关理论，研究团伙型、暴力型和计算机犯罪三种主要的青少年犯罪类型。
团伙犯罪是我国青少年犯罪的主要形态，当前，我国青少年团伙犯罪出现了一些新变化。一是作案主体普遍存在“两多”:即学生多，初犯多。二是作案的行为方式趋于隐蔽、狡猾。三是团伙的组织方式由以前临时纠合、时聚时散趋向于有计划、预谋和分工，有为首组织者，成为较严密的组织甚至犯罪集团。四是犯罪日趋专门化、职业化。五是作案地点从大中城市向县城、集镇、农村和边远地区蔓延。
暴力型青少年犯罪的特点：从犯罪的起因看，预谋性和突发性并存；从犯罪的组织形式看，呈团伙化发展的趋势；从犯罪的手段看，凶狠残暴，毫无顾忌；从施害人和被害人的关系看，施害人在实施犯罪前和被害人有一定程度的接触甚至具有亲密关系的占相当比例。导致青少年暴力犯罪发生主要有个体思想认识不高、防范查处不力、民事纠纷矛盾激化以及被害人自身四个方面的原因。
我国的青少年计算机犯罪现象日益突出。青少年计算机犯罪具有犯罪主体低龄化，犯罪手段智能化，犯罪对象广泛，犯罪行为隐蔽，犯罪方式连续，犯罪后果巨大的特点。
