好汉不吃眼前亏。
A wise man does not fight when the odds are against him.

苟可忍时忍为妙，事情闹大可难办：宁可眼前亏，不吃来日苦；孔及早补助，方免补大洞。
It is better to endure,or deal with something painful or unpleasant immediately,if by not doing so the situation will only get worse and even more difficult to handle.
