首先虚拟语气的从句是要用过去时的，所有A和B就首先排除
D，因为主句用的是would have，所有从句也要用过去完成时，就不能只用一般过去时，是表示对过去事实的虚拟。
正确的是：
If it was not for the scholarships,he would drop out of school. 对现在事实的虚拟
If it had not been for the scholarships,he would have dropped out of school.对过去事实的虚拟

还是虚拟语气呵呵

后面的would have dropped 这个情态动词接完成时的结构,表示与过去相反.
