the other---usually used in the situation:
one...the other
another----一方面可以理解为“再一个”，for instance:
how about another cup of coffee?
on the other hand, 用于三者以上的情况
others----"其他的" or "其他人"
Do you know the others' plans?
the others---应该更侧重人

other为两者之间，another表示 三者或三者以上
others表示后面不加词，它本身就是名词

other表示形容词，后面加名词
