Explain the following types of ambiguity.
a. Mary can't bear children.
b. The dog is ready to eat.

1. bear may be understood as " give birth to a baby" or "endure". So there are at least two different meanings of this sentence. One is Mary is unable to give birth to any children. The other is Mary doesn't like to stay with children.

2. There are also two meanings. One is that the dog is ready to have something to eat. The other is the dog meat is ready to be eaten.
