什么时候英语单词末尾要加e,什么时候不用加?

如:different --没加the difference---加the

改为;;;如:different --是没加e的
chocolate---是加e的

这个似乎好像只能靠积累了...

different变成difference是形容词变名词。
与此同类的还有patient(形容词)---- patience(名词)，就是把末尾的t变成ce.
这个问题就无从答起了，我不知道。
