Not really, IELST focuse more on the pragmatic aspects of enligsh,, like writing listening, reading,,and of course speaking. So as long as you have a good understanding of the grammer that you learned in high school, YOU will be DEFINITELY ok for IELTS in terms of grammer.

As a high school student, you could take IELTS and if you work hard enough, you could even do better than your college counterparts. I did IELTS, when I was a high school senior, and I got a pretty good score which I did not expect to be that high.. So I guess what I want to say is that , if you want to take it in high school, go for it. And if you are a good english student in high school. chances are that within 6 months of diligent learning, you will get a score that will get you somewhere you want to go.
