Sinalco is a renowned brand in the gastronomy and retail trade for 100 years now. The cult brand Sinalco is sold in more than 40 countries around the world.

In 1902, the foundations for its success were laid by the scientist Friedrich Eduard Bilz. The history of the extraordinary taste began with Bilz´ inventing the so-called "Bilz Brause", a specific sort of sherbet powder. Together with the industrialist Franz Hartmann, Bilz started to produce and sell Sinalco.

The path to the brand's success was pointed in 1905. Because of numerous attempts of imitating Sinalco, the two proprietors searched for a catchy name which could be protected by patent. Finally a prize competition led to the birth of the name "Sinalco", as a abbreviation of the Latin word "sine alcohole".
