Comprehending speaking materials in a foreign language is one of the most difficult tasks and one of the most useful skills in foreign language teaching. But for many years listening skills have not received the priority it deserves in language teaching. A traditional listening lesson often tends to test listening rather than teach it and does not practice the kind of listening that takes place in real life. This paper explores a communicative way of teaching listening--a combination of seeing, listening and speaking. The new teaching approach can inspire learners’ interest, help learners develop a better awareness of how to listen, build up their skills and strategies
Listening is an important section in foreign language teaching.
However,teaching methods are still shut in tradtional ways these days,focusing stably on exercises instead of enhancing students abilities and raising their interest,and made it a backslide in teaching effect finally.Teachers constantly plays tapes in class,and students also merely check how they score after exercises.
Both of them are sparing time boredly all through the class.Teachers are supposed to use multimedia and try their best to make sutudents enjoy themselves during classes,but they just ignore it.A new suggested idea is discussed in this article,which emphasizing on actions between teachers and students before listening,to make the background knowledge well integrated with the what they will hear,and ultimately get students to feel it`s fun to listen to English and much can they achieve after class.
