cheat, deceive, defraud, swindle v.t. & v.i.
A swindler cheated her (out) of one hundred dollars by selling her a watch which did not work.
All reactionaries attempt to cheat the people of the fruits of their hard-earned victory.
Tom cheated at the examination, but the teacher was not deceived.
That was simply a blind designed to deceive the enemy.
I was deceived in his apparent competence.
He deceives himself if he thinks he is indispensable.
You should not defraud your neighbor, neither rob him.
Freedom of speech and press does not include the right to deceive or defraud.
