英语为什么有那么多的单词

A lot of words are borrowed from French when they constantly fought each other during the long history.Chinese 5000 words are not enough to express the state-of-art technology terms,don't you notice Chinese words have been enlarged greatly since the reform.

英语常用的好像也就2000——3000单词
