ascertain, inform the Carrier of, investigate and (if so instructed by the Carrier) prosecute or dispute, resist, defend, appeal, compromise or settle any claims by or against the Carrier or any of its vessels whether related to collision, other accidents, damage to such vessels (or any other ships) or cargo, injuries to any person(s), damage to or loss of equipment or otherwise provided always that the compromise or any settlement of claim shall be subject to the prior and specific written approval of the Carrier,
