cheer on
to shout encouragement at a person or team to help them do well in a race or competition:
For example: They gathered round the swimming pool and cheered her on.

cheer up
(1) to become less sad, or to make someone feel less sad:
For example: Cheer up! The worst is over.
For example: They cheered up when they saw us coming along.
cheer somebody ↔ up
For example: Here's a bit of news that will cheer you up.
For example: You both need cheering up, I think.

(2) cheer something ↔ up
to make a place look more attractive:
For example: I bought some posters to cheer the place up a bit.

fault, blame, mistake

If someone causes something bad, you can say that it is their fault or that they are to blame
• The accident was my fault.
• Nobody is to blame for what happened. !!

Do not say that someone 'has the/a etc fault'
