旅游业在我国正处于快速发展时期，急需不同层次的旅游专业人才，在我国,旅游专业人才的培养主要源于旅游教育。虽然我国的旅游教育也取得了长足的发展，但与国外先进的旅游教育相比尚存在明显差距与诸多不足，我国旅游教育自身问题的存在日渐成为我国旅游业发展的瓶颈。笔者在文中针对我国现行的旅游教育进行系统的分析，找出各方面的问题，针对多数旅游院校在办学规模、培养目标、师资力量、教学模式等方面的问题，提出了相应的解决对策与建议。旅游教育只有在为自身稳定、持续、健康的发展打好基石之后，才能为旅游业在我国的进一步发展作出应有贡献。企盼旅游教育在解决长期困扰自身发展的问题后，在我国能够形成独特的办学特色，不断为行业培养所需的高素质人才。
