Abstract. The potential of increasing the pH of wastewater to high levelsby CO2 stripping through air,N2, O2 and agas mixture (95% N2 + 5% CO2) has been examined in this work.Wastewater collectedafter the biological treatment from a large-scale plantwas monitored for pH in a continuous, computercontrolledlaboratory setup. The use of air as the gaseous medium for CO2 stripping increased the pH to a maximum value of approximately 8.53.
