不过说实话，我倒是在C和D里徘徊。不过C的意思太绝对，用到的情况不多~
1.首先我们看那个是过去式引导的对话,A.要用 might not be而D这个是过于肯定一般很少用,because there was little snow there根据这个推断出来的常常用could/couldn't be.
2.第2个同样问题,过去式引导的句子,不可能选择A的,而推断的基本上都是用could/couldn't 就是这样,你情态动词还得多去看下,其实不难的
