我国是个海洋渔业大国，近几年来随着海洋渔业的高速发展，我国海洋渔业产量跃居世界第一位。仅以1994年为例，我国海洋渔业产量达到1242万吨，渔业产值696亿元（不含水产加工流通产值），占全国海洋经济总产值1400亿元的49.8%，已成为海洋经济举足轻重的产业之一。自改革开放以来，我国海洋渔业更是开始了由生产型向管理型的转变，海洋渔政管理愈来愈趋向规范化、科学化和法制化。本文试对中国海洋渔业经济发展的现状作些许分析，在强调目前渔政管理的重要性的同时，对江苏海洋渔政管理现状进行调查分析，并就目前存在的问题提出若干改进的建议，希望能在日后为我省的渔政管理工作提供借鉴。

China is a big country of marine fisheries, with the rapid development in marine fisheries in recent years , China's marine fishery production leapt to the first place in the world. For example, in 1994, China's marine fisheries production reached 12.42 million tons, Fishery output valued 69.6 billion yuan (excluding the output value of aquatic products processing and circulation), accounting for 49.8% of the 140 billion yuan output value of National marine economy, which makes it an important industry.
