我想你说的是personal statement。这个并没有一个固定的格式，只要说明自己的长处以及为什么自己想去学这个专业，就可以了。每段之间要很连贯，并且能够在不经意中写出你的长处及你所做过的事情最好。一般PS长短不限，1-2页当然最好。
