本设计主要任务为依据新的规范对箱形悬臂施工进行验算，拱桥的施工安全和质量是工程施工的头等大事，为此工程安装施工验算是施工前的一项重要技术工作。本设计计算可直接应用到施工设计中且具有一定的通用参考价值。
本设计的主要内容是：安装中段拱肋时托架的设计与计算；中段拱肋搭接处悬臂牛腿的计算；起吊框构时拱桁架产生的内力及挠度计算；安装过程中墩，台立墙截面强度验算；悬臂拼装拱桁架的连接件设计与计算。本设计计算完成的方法是根据老规范的计算示例的基本步骤而进行的，再依据新规范中的条例更改已经不符合现今设计施工要求的方面，从而使用了大量时间去校对新老规范的异同之处。
箱形拱桥悬臂施工验算的结果是该设计符合规范要求，应用到施工现场是安全，可行的。
