人们出差在外是常有的事情，可当公司有紧急会议时不能及时地面对面的交流，为了方便人们进行异地会议，设计了一个基于Java的视听会议系统。采用Java语言和Eclipse3.1开发工具进行设计，应用了JMF和Socket编程的技术。该系统划分为“服务器端”和“客户端”两个模块，在“服务器端”模块中，实现了服务器的启动，建立侦听，接受客户端的连接的功能，并且能够实现服务器端口号的变更，和对用户登录信息及聊天内容的监控的功能，以保证系统的安全运行。在“客户端”模块中，实现了用户连接服务器，发送用户登录请求的功能，并能够实现向服务器发送聊天信息，由服务器转发给其他用户，以及接收由服务器转发来的聊天信息。主要的是实现用户向其他客户端发送视频请求，并在确认后建立连接的功能。
